The Doors "Wintertime Love"
"Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (24)
During this period of weak creative drive from Morrison, Krieger also felt the pressure. With Light My Fire and Love Me Two Times, Robby had shown he could write great songs, but he didn’t have the time to develop certain pieces as he would have liked. As Jim said, "Robby is a musician and tends to create more complex and elaborate pieces, while mine follow a more bluesy and essential line." The lyrics are, of course, easier and more innocent, lacking the darkness and irony of Jim. Musically, it’s a piece dominated by Manzarek with Morrison’s seductive (or sleepy) vocals; the guitar is barely noticeable. It’s one of the least "Doors" songs in the entire discography.
