I Want to know what love is - Foreigner I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS, 1984 FOREIGNER is an Anglo-American rock band formed in New York in 1976 from the collaboration of English musician Mick Jones, former King Crimson member Ian McDonald, and American singer Lou Gramm. The band's name comes from the different geographical origins of its members. "I Want to Know What Love Is" is the title of the song performed by the Anglo-American rock group Foreigner and recorded in 1984, but it is also the meaning of this poignant song with its rhythmic tones, enhanced by the expressive contribution of the voices from the New Jersey Mass Choir.
