Ok, so there's this interview with the absolute master Jamie Lidell (I see you my nigga, we are in this bitch, HAAAN) who, when asked about his influences for his self-titled 2013 album, mentioned Control and Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson, saying something like "I had never listened to them before, but when I did, I was blown away, it was devastating music, but why doesn’t anyone make music like this anymore today?".
