Thank you for the vast herds of buffalo to kill and skin, leaving the carcasses to rot.

Thank you for the bounties on wolves and coyotes.

Thank you for the American Dream, vulgarizing and falsifying until the naked lies shine.

Thank you for the Ku Klux Klan.

For the lawmen who kill black men, counting their notches.

For the decent church ladies, with their wicked, contrite, bitter, evil faces.

Thank you for the “Kill a Queer for Christ” stickers.

Thank you for lab-created AIDS.

Thank you for Prohibition and the war on drugs.

Thank you for a country where no one is allowed to mind their own business.
