THE REVIEW

The 80s, the true era of Ozzy, the real peak of his career, years immediately marked by a very turbulent beginning with the farewell to Sabbath, the band that made him famous worldwide, that popularized heavy metal, the true style that Ozzy would favor during his solo career; the great successes that emerged after an entire year of musical meditation in a hotel with the release of the album 'Blizzard Of Ozz' and the subsequent 'Diary Of A Madman'.

The great tragedies that came in '82 after the death of his now best friend Randy Rhoads, the flamboyant guitarist of Ozzy's first two ventures. The recovery, although very slow, with 'Bark At The Moon' and the new guitarist Jake E. Lee, who never entered the hearts of the fans despite his musical abilities, and the subsequent return in '86 with the Glam transformation of Ozzy and his entire musical style. The melancholy and the successes (no longer like the first two albums) afflict Ozzy. We could depict Ozzy's pain for the loss of Randy with a single song: You're No Different, sadly melancholic yet still beautiful.

Another return in '88 with the modest 'No Rest For The Wicked' makes us think Ozzy has lost his true style, but a young man highly skilled with the guitar will bring him back out of the pain and suffering, bringing back the original Ozzy. He is Zakk Wylde and his guitar says it all. 'No More Tears' would come later... These are Ozzy's 80s with successes and pains and in 1990 they were gathered into a limited edition collection with some of his most beautiful songs, although those from 'No Rest For The Wicked' were excluded. Certainly, we would have deserved a complete collection, but everything is already written in his legendary albums. Here they appear:

1. Flying High Again 2. Crazy Train 3. Diary Of A Madman 4. Shot In The Dark 5. Thank God For The Bomb

6. Bark At The Moon 7. Tonight 8. Little Dolls 9. Steal Away (The Night) 10. So tired

Ten commandments, ten masterpieces, ten songs…..
