Dorothy Ashby (1932–1986) was an American jazz harpist who helped bring the harp into small‑group jazz, soul‑jazz, and funk settings. Landmark albums such as Afro-Harping (1968) and The Rubáiyát of Dorothy Ashby (1970) are celebrated for their innovative sound.
