Bobby "Blue" Bland

Bobby “Blue” Bland (Robert Calvin Bland, 1930–2013) was an American soul-blues and R&B singer known for his expressive, grainy baritone and refined phrasing. Rising from the Memphis scene and the Beale Streeters, he scored enduring hits like Farther On Up the Road, I Pity the Fool, and Turn On Your Love Light. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame (1981) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1992), and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (1997).
