Augustus Pablo

Augustus Pablo (born Horace Swaby, 1954–1999) was a Jamaican musician and producer, a key pioneer of dub reggae and the signature melodica voice of the “far east sound.” He worked closely with King Tubby and Lee “Scratch” Perry and released classics like King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown (1976) and East of the River Nile (1977). He ran the Rockers International label and record shop.
