The Effigies

The Effigies are a Chicago punk rock band formed in 1980 and recognized as early standard-bearers of the city’s hardcore scene. Fronted by vocalist John Kezdy, they blended hardcore urgency with post‑punk textures on releases such as Haunted Town (1981), Fly On A Wire (1983), Ink (1986), and later Reside (2007).
