Jackie McLean

Jackie McLean (1931–2006) was an American alto saxophonist central to hard bop and later post-bop/avant-garde jazz. He recorded extensively for Blue Note, collaborated with Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and Thelonious Monk, and later taught at the University of Hartford, helping build a notable jazz studies program in Hartford.
