That Omar had remained a true rock purist was known.
Throughout 2019, he toured Italy with a concert almost entirely focused on that fantastic album by the never sufficiently remembered Timoria, which was called "Viaggio senza vento".
A sparkling band, with Omar on vocals and guitar, Carlo Poddighe on guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, Larry Mancini on bass and backing vocals, Simone Zoni on guitar and backing vocals, and Stefano Malchiodi on drums.
This album, released in the fall of 2020, thus offers again the inner journey of Joe, a boy with a difficult and troubled life.
Joe, after becoming an addict who wonders why he abandoned his childhood places to take a wrong path, seeks through various experiences a way to redeem himself and become a better person.
The tracks, even in this live version from Our Uncle Rock, don't lose an ounce of their power and expressiveness (and it must be said that Omar has also become an excellent singer).
To the tracks of "Viaggio senza vento" are added a wonderful "Il cielo sopra Milano" (from his latest solo album "Come se non ci fosse un domani") dedicated to the city that adopted him, even though he remains a true Brescia native, "Sole spento" which can never be missing in an Omar Pedrini concert, closing with "Hey hey, My My (Into The Black)" in Young's memory.
A splendid concert and a great listen!
