Uh-oh, we are notified that this review also appears on Buong.it.
The latest work from the former Timoria guitarist has little that's new.
Omar (reborn after the aneurysm that affected him some time ago) brings forth this album that adds nothing to what he has already done with his old group (which was already without Francesco Renga)... lyrics and sounds branded in full "Timoria" style, resulting in an album of very catchy Italian pop-rock, not surprisingly, the single "Shock" is dominating the radio and TV.
Pedrini (on his second solo album) still doesn't manage to completely distance himself from what he has already done (perhaps the song "La follia" stands out for its echoes of some hybrid nuances between Mannoia, Vasco Rossi, and Battisti) and the "electronic manipulation" (which is not very impactful), attempted by Omar to tone down the strong Timoria imprint present throughout the album, serves little... the imprint is there and it is felt.
Anyway, "Pane burro e medicine" is a good Italian music album, honest and without great ambitions, an important starting (again) point for the new life of Omar Pedrini.
Good luck.
I wanted, thanks to this opportunity, to greet the entire DeBaser community!
