THE REVIEW

Sorry, this is the last review of Oasis that will be done, but even "Be Here Now" deserves a second comment like all the others. This CD comes after the first two ("Morning Glory" and "Definitely Maybe") which are the band's historical ones, those that allowed the Gallagher brothers to become very famous worldwide, and for this reason, it sold a lot in the first weeks of its release.

But despite this, the quality of the album is mediocre and even Noel, whom we all know as an arrogant character, criticizes it. The CD opens with "D'you know what I mean?" whose beginning is similar to "Morning Glory". The second is "My big mouth", a track that the English band could have avoided. The next track is "Magic pie", certainly better than the previous song but also this one was avoidable. Finally, Oasis return as Oasis, track 4 is "Stand by me", a deep and simple song that immediately touches people; song 5 is the cheerful and carefree "I hope, I think, I know". The CD continues with the hope that something has revived, and "The girl in the dirty shirt" appears to ruin everything, a track with a great title but (unfortunately) music not up to the Gallagher's standard. The CD continues with "Fade in out", perhaps the band's worst song. When everything seems lost and you're ready to trash the record; here comes "Don't go away", a very, very beautiful and captivating piece as worthy as "Stand by me" from the first two CDs. Track 9 is the youthful and particular "Be here now" which gives the name to the entire compilation, and 10 is "All around the world" which is one of the few to be saved. Finally, it's the turn of "It's gettin better (man)" that closes (badly) "Be Here Now".

Surely this is one of the worst CDs by Oasis, on the eve of its release there was great anticipation surrounding it, and it disappointed fans, although it also produced songs like "Stand by me", "Don't go away", and "All around the world" that have become historical tracks of the group and for this reason, it is not at all to be thrown away. Oasis will have opportunities to make up for it and they will.

Summary by Bot

The review assesses Oasis' third album, Be Here Now, as generally mediocre compared to their previous landmark works. While the album was highly anticipated and sold well initially, many tracks fall short, with only a few songs like Stand by Me, Don't Go Away, and All Around the World highlighted as memorable. Despite criticism, including from Noel Gallagher, the album still holds historic value. Overall, it is seen as a disappointment but not a failure.

This is a great album: full of energy, rock in its purest form.

In my very personal opinion, this is the most beautiful song by Oasis.

The first hint of diarrhea was birthed with “Be Here Now”: a gonad-breaking dirge that lasts eleven tracks plus the ending of “All Around The World” as a hidden track.

You just feel like sticking a hand in Liam Gallagher’s mouth and ripping out his tonsils because of how disgusting his desperate housewife voice is.

All the works by Oasis, even if criticized to no end (even by Noel himself), have something to say.

It really seems like a CD to put in the car while driving who-knows-where and with who-knows-what thoughts in your head.

An unmistakable style, chords, sounds, musicality, voices... expressed at their highest levels.

If you don’t own this LP, run immediately to the nearest record store, NOW!

Oasis seem to be a copy of themselves and seem unable to get up from the abyss into which they have fallen.

'All around the world' is the masterpiece of the album, with a driving rhythm and an almost worthy finale of 'Champagne Supernova'.
