New intriguing release for those who love the most occult and ritual industrial esoteric genre. This is the second work of New Processean Order, a sort of collective whose main creator is Alessandro Papa who, on this occasion, has surrounded himself with the cream of our local esoteric scene: thus, we find the mythical Simon Balestrazzi (known for his past with the great T.A.C.), Corrado Altieri (Uncodified, Candor Chasma, TH26), Marcello Fraioli, and ClauDEDI of the legendary Ain Soph, Marco Wertham (Foresta di Ferro) and Gabriel Marzi (Dolpo), and many others. New Processean Order is a project that goes beyond the musical discourse and rests on solid philosophical foundations: it is inspired by the religious cult of the Process Church Of The Final Judgement founded in the ‘60s by Mary Ann and Robert DeGrimston, two members who left Scientology. The philosophy of the cult was based on the simultaneous veneration of Christ and Satan. This singular concept attracted Alessandro Papa who, besides the New Processean Order, of which Hymns To The Great Gods Of The Universe was previously released, also dedicated a book to the topic. Conceptually, we are very close to the historic Psychic TV. The new album is significantly titled CrucifEgo (Crucifixion of the Ego): all featured names are rebaptized as “Brothers.” Musically, we are faced with a product in line with the best of this genre: lovers of early Ain Soph, T.A.C. of A Circle Of Limbs, and Hypnotischer Eden will find themselves comfortable with the dark and circular sounds found in CrucifEgo. Alessandro Papa recites the texts taken from the psalms of the Process Church while most of the electronic manipulation work is credited to Simon Balestrazzi. After the initial track “Crucifego,” minimal and dark-industrial, the next “A Light In The Tunnel Of Darkness” paints esoteric scenarios and is characterized by the dark guitar sounds of Marco Wertham. “Preghiera del cuore” is effective in its occult settings akin to the very first things by Ain Soph. In “Alma Deum” we find ethnic and ritual settings and electronic layers that reminded me of the settings of Apotropaismo by T.A.C.. In “Om Saham Hamsa” there are malevolent choral evocations while “Preghiera Neoprocessiana del cuore,” punctuated by the rhythms of a heartbeat, ventures into experimental and occult territories not far from certain solutions of early Coil. “Exit” closes this enigmatic work calmly, with a dark-ambient theme. CrucifEgo is published by End Of Kaly Yuga Editions and comes in 3 editions: an ultra-limited vinyl version of 16 numbered copies including a silver jewel depicting the symbol of the New Processean Order, a limited edition vinyl of 484 copies, and a Digipack CD limited to 500 copies.
