Neri Parenti is an Italian film director best known for broad commercial comedies and the seasonal "cinepanettone" films. He has directed many popular Italian comedies and frequently worked with performers such as Christian De Sica and Massimo Boldi; some of his films were written or produced in collaboration with the Vanzina brothers.

Associated with commercial Christmas comedies (cinepanettoni); recurring collaborators include Christian De Sica, Massimo Boldi; films often feature exotic locations, cameo-heavy casts and lowbrow humor.

DeBaser reviews present a mixed view of Neri Parenti: some praise particular films as effective Italian comedies, while many criticisms target the repetitive, vulgar, commercial nature of his 'cinepanettone' output. Reviewers frequently mention recurring collaborators (De Sica, Boldi) and traits like Christmas timing, exotic locations, and lowbrow humor. The collection reflects both loyal fans and strong detractors.

For:Fans and critics of Italian mainstream comedy, readers interested in cinepanettone and popular Italian cinema.

I’ve been waiting for years for the chance to review, with and for You as I usually do, what I consider to be the best episodic film of the '80s, and probably thebest Italian comedy of the era, even considering its relative lack of public success, which did not prevent it from becoming a small-great classic, especially for those who had the foresight to record it on VHS or DVD, as it was unavailable for years on the official home video market.
