THE REVIEW

The "Neon" dominated the Florentine music scene in the '80s with a series of electronic New Wave singles sung in English.

Only in 1985 was their first true album released: "Rituals."

In my opinion, there's a lot of Joy Division and Sister Of Mercy, but there's also electronics: a very synthetic sound that, in addition to making the mind travel, tries to move the body.

To be listened to at high volume (as every record should be) in your room, alone and with your head in the clouds…

Their strength lies in the exquisite melodic passages that occasionally burst through the dark sounds of the synthesizers.

An excellent debut album, then. It’s a pity they didn’t confirm their talents.

"Neon remain a niche band truly appreciated to the fullest only by a select few."

"Their unique 'hybrid' style was too refined for charts and too commercial for purists."
