The Profile

Necrony is a Swedish deathgrind band formed by Anders Jakobson and Rickard Alriksson in the early 1990s. They issued the demo Severe Malignant Pustule and the EP Mucupurulent Miscarriage (1991), the full-length Pathological Performances (1993), and the covers release Necronycism: Distorting the Originals (1994). The project wound down as its members focused on Nasum with Mieszko Talarczyk.

Publicly verifiable: Swedish deathgrind; founded by Anders Jakobson and Rickard Alriksson; active 1990–1994; Carcass-influenced; Pathological Performances (1993) produced by Dan Swanö; Necronycism (1994) is a covers tribute; members later focused on Nasum (connected with Mieszko Talarczyk).

One review hails Necrony’s 1993 Pathological Performances as a Carcass-tinged deathgrind statement with Dan Swanö at the controls. Expect blast beats, chainsaw guitars, and even a macabre flute intro. The band’s death metal lean dominates longer songs. A 1994 covers set, Necronycism, underscores the lineage. Necrony’s story tangles with the rise of Nasum.
