These are Napalm Death, meaning not realizing you've already reached the fifth song of the CD, when you thought you were at the first, at most the second.
I don't want to dwell too much on the usual issue, it's well known by now: songs lasting a maximum of one minute, a strong chaotic tendency, a very heavy growl, hyper-distorted guitar, hyper-mixed, and the more hyper there is, the more there is to add.
Nihilism, pure destructive or hyper-chaotic instinct, primordial, bestial yet savagely human. Now, some see genius in these things, while others consider grindcore pure anti-music. One could talk about this endlessly, truly to infinity. A review, however, cannot last indefinitely.
This album is composed of two different live recordings which I believe best express the band's primordial spirit, at a much more acceptable quality than the a-sonorous chaos of Scum. The first part is the most grind in the strictest sense; the longest song is 1:05 and includes the beloved You Suffer (the shortest song in history, 1 second and a bit more); the second part is slightly longer (maximum track length: 1:54) and more balanced between hyper-chaotic spurs, death, and hardcore moments.
To anyone approaching such a particular kind of music, undeniably ironic as much as conceptually consistent (a very commendable thing), I want to give the essential advice of not looking at the CD player or MP3 display, to forget that the song is already over, because, darn it, another one has started; the sound chaos that Napalm Death can create, regardless of the pure division of the songs, is certainly something worthy of attention, if not exactly appreciation.
