They are back, after three years from their previous work; and they do so excellently. The same applies to their long discography, apart from a couple of not perfectly successful works. Eight tracks for over an hour of Gothic-Doom as only My Dying Bride can offer; the unexpected return of Calvin Robertshaw on guitar, one of the founding members of the Dying Bride back in 1990, is remarkable.

The sound blend becomes thicker, darker, and more stretched; with the guitars finally returning to being protagonists, weaving slow and exhausting plots. With that sharp and chilling violin sound that meets Aaron's voice on its path; revisiting in some songs his demonic growl, like from an infernal cave.

Listening to the first three eternal tracks, all exceeding nine minutes, makes me feel once again after so many years those sacred and infinite chills that confirm to me, yet again, the absolute value of the Englishmen.
