In reality, a worthy successor to the great "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" has not been found!!! A great live album, for a band like Motorhead, who could set your brain on fire even with just an hour of concert! This successor, or rather younger brother, is titled "No Sleep At All", and is recorded during a concert in Finland following the release of "Rock N' Roll" (1987).
Nevertheless, Lemmy and Co. give their best as always, but I perceive a significant aging in the leader's voice. But let's move on to the album analysis: the CD opens with "Dr. Rock", a track from "Orgasmatron", here in an even more rockin' live version with some fearsome riffs from Lemmy. The second track is from the new album, "Rock n Roll", and it's called "Traitor", a classic song from the Motorhead repertoire. The same goes for the following "Dogs", which however is slower than the studio version, a strange thing for Motorhead!!! And finally, we reach "Ace Of Spades" which is speed metal in person! Here in a two-minute and twenty-second version, even faster than usual. The following is "Eat the Rich", a song I hope you know, because at least I like it a lot. The next two, namely "Built For Speed" and "Deaf Forever", are more or less identical, and when I listened to them for the first time, I only realized afterwards that they were two distinct tracks! But they are truly spectacular! Then the authentic must-have of the record, which is "Killed By Death"... what a track, gentlemen! A frantic rock song that only pauses to make room for the drumming that introduces the immortal "Overkill", the track that brought Motor to fame, the song that twice pretends to end and then resumes again endlessly, and again...!!!!
Really a great record, but not as much as "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" from seven years earlier! W MOTORHEAD!!
