The Profile

Morgoth are a German death metal band from Meschede, formed in 1985. After early EPs (Resurrection Absurd, The Eternal Fall), they released Cursed (1991) and Odium (1993), later shifting toward industrial/metal on Feel Sorry for the Fanatic (1996). They split in 1998, reunited in 2010, and issued Ungod (2015) before ceasing activities in 2018.

Signed to Century Media Records; notable vocalist Marc Grewe; key releases include Cursed (1991), Odium (1993), Feel Sorry for the Fanatic (1996), and Ungod (2015).

Two DeBaser reviews cover Morgoth’s pivotal era: Odium is praised as a dark, forceful peak blending thrash drive with industrial textures, while Feel Sorry for the Fanatic documents a stark shift toward industrial/metal with mixed reception and melancholic shades. Noted are the band’s German roots, Century Media era, and Marc Grewe’s distinctive vocals. Overall tone skews appreciative, especially for Odium.
