When I saw that the review was missing, I dove in headfirst. Big mistake.
Moby, a great multifaceted artist who needs no introduction, presents us with a complete album.
To say it is simply Electronic music would be too reductive; it means everything and nothing.
This time I dare to make a sort of logbook of the most noteworthy steps, in my characteristic narrative style, of this journey called "Everything Is Wrong".
Everything begins with "Hymn", a purely Ambient dive into the cool water of the Pacific Ocean. You immediately feel alive and unstoppable, represented by the House/Rave energy of "Feeling So Real" and "Everytime You Touch Me", the Electro-Punk of "All That I Need Is To Be Loved" and the aggressiveness of "What Love?", initially with a haunting Blues atmosphere but soon explosive with almost Thrash Metal resonances.
A burst of life that makes you pause for reflection within a few minutes. The surrounding atmosphere changes.
When "Into The Blue" starts, you remain paralyzed, sadness overwhelms you. The embrace of two fetuses immersed in amniotic fluid.
New lives grow and others slowly fade away... with the melancholic notes of the instrumental pieces "Everything Is Wrong" and "God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters".
Tears flow like rivers. Stunned by the fragility of the human being.
To the sound of the ethereal female voice in "When It's Cold I'd Like To Die", you feel more alone than ever and desperately seek refuge in the thickest fog.
Amen.
