It's the band's third album; unfortunately, the last one.

More lineup changes, another musical shift. This time, the pace is drastically slowed down, gravitating towards heavy, claustrophobic Heavy-Doom sounds. Like Sabbath in slow motion, with Patrick Dubar's voice landing halfway between Ozzy and Chris Cornell. The production, raw and closed-off (due to a ridiculous budget), doesn't help and makes listening to the whole work a burdensome, at times insurmountable, experience.

It feels like hearing just one track because the construction of the individual songs is similar. The guitars bite, hit hard; the rhythm section is thick, sludgy. At times, even the vocals take on muddled, weary movements, as if Patrick wanted to wrap things up quickly, close the album and even the Mind Funk's career. There are a few rare softer moments, with less harsh sounds and the presence of a few acoustic notes.

For the rest, we are in complete shadow, under a leaden, blackish sky. "Weird Water" is the only definite nod to the past, to the Psycho-Stoner of the previous Dropped.

Over the years, I have managed to appreciate this dark swan song of one of the most underrated and ill-fated bands of the nineties.

Diabolos Rising 666.
