the video is a little masterpiece (the first work by Gondry outside the French market that brought him to international prominence) created by mixing animation and live-action footage: the "creatures" and sets were all handcrafted, enhancing the fairy-tale effect (thus almost thriller: all fairy tales are horror stories adapted for the little ones) that perfectly complements the soundscapes of the song.
