Merle Haggard

Merle Haggard (1937–2016) was an American country singer-songwriter and guitarist central to the Bakersfield sound. After a troubled youth and time in San Quentin, he turned to music, releasing a long run of hits from the mid-1960s onward and remaining active until his death on his 79th birthday.
