THE REVIEW

I want to present to you the latest work of these four Roman guys, Medusa's Spite, which has just been released on iTunes, where it can be purchased, (you won’t find it on eMule); a little clarifying introduction, now the Medusans, as their fans affectionately call them (among whom I am the first and also founded a group on Facebook) consist of the brothers Stefano and Paolo Daniele on guitars and synth, Axel Donnini on bass, and Fabio De Angelis on drums!

Medusa began as a research group in the field of electrorock exclusively in the English language (I don't think I’ll ever hear Stef sing in Italian) and they are a band to admire because they make absolutely non-commercial music sung in English and also because they are trying and have succeeded in producing themselves, freeing themselves from the commercial logic of the record companies so much so that they continue to do other jobs to support the Medusa's project.

Their latest work "Morning Doors The Glass Path" is the sequel to the previous "Morning Doors" and it's the conclusion of the protagonist's day in "Morning Doors." In the non-digital version, which you can book on their website, there is an audio short serving as an interlude between the various tracks.

As for the album, I can tell you, as usual it's a concentration of sounds and emotions strictly to be listened to with headphones to catch the myriad effects they have managed to condense in it once again.

The album starts with an opening that is their trademark "Something Else" a gem like "Soon", see the video on YouTube to believe it, "Cat Black" for which the video shot in Finland is about to be released. I won’t say more; it must be bought on iTunes or booked on their website and listened to, as said, in headphones at high volume.

If you love their mentors Depeche Mode, you cannot fail to like them and it was mixed in London by Mike Marsh.

One last thing, I am not their manager (they don’t have one).

Cheers.
