The artistic trajectory of Fantocci di Carne is peculiar: a historic entity of indie-rock from the United States, they reached their peak of public fame indirectly and in conjunction with the universally known Nirvana Unplugged experiment artfully crafted by MTV.

Amidst natural missteps and delightful successes, following a forced hiatus — partly due to the unfortunate circumstances of one of the Kirkwood brothers — they've returned to stable activity over the last three years with two more than respectable works released in close succession: "Rise To Your Knees" in 2007 and this latest one, released through Megaforce, characterized by an intelligent rock, occasionally robust, never excessively harsh or trivial but rather distinguished by a pleasant variety of nuances and molded by the trailing, semi-nasal, always enjoyable vocal lines courtesy of the good Curt.

From the dreamy moonlit-rock of "Smoke" and "Sapphire", to the eccentric semi-country of "I'm Not You", passing through the scraped guitars of "Blanket Of Weeds", there is a sequence of great ideas effectively organized and set to music: had these been written by R.E.M., many would (justly) sing endless praises of the regained verve of the old guard of U.S. rock, and so on, pontificating.

To be truthful, more than peculiar, it would be appropriate to define their trajectory as unfair: but perhaps it suits Them just fine this way.
