Maurizio Giammarco Quartet

Maurizio Giammarco Quartet is a jazz group led by Italian saxophonist Maurizio Giammarco. In 1988 he assembled a dream lineup with Danilo Rea (piano), Marc Johnson (double bass), and Peter Erskine (drums) for Hornithology. The review notes Giammarco’s long career in Italian jazz, his work for cinema and theater, collaborations with pop artists (including Mina and Mia Martini), and his role as artistic director of the Jazz Orchestra of Parco della Musica in Rome.
