Mario Schifano (1934–1998) was an Italian artist associated with Italian pop imagery and experimental practices in painting and film. He produced numerous series (Acerbo, Campi di Pane, Paesaggi Anemici, Trees of Life, Palms) and worked across painting and cinema. He is frequently discussed for his 1960s works, use of commercial imagery and prolific output.
