Big productions, big budgets, big casts, big actors.
But there is an Italian film, probably shot with a limited budget, with Italian actors, in which an extraordinary Luigi Lo Cascio stands out, and in my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful films ever made and that everyone should see.
"I Cento passi" represents the steps that separate the house of the Impastato family in Cinisi, a village near Palermo, from the house of the boss Tano Badalamenti.
The film tells the story of Peppino Impastato, born into a mafia-linked family and the internal dramas within the "famigghia," generated by Peppino's strong civic sense who refuses to conform to the mafia system and from the microphones of "Radio Aut" publicly denounces, naming names, the "men of honor."
Directed by Marco Tullio Giordana, "I cento passi" is a film about the Sicilian mafia that is perhaps atypical and outside the classic frameworks, which with a masterful performance by Luigi Lo Cascio goes straight to the heart and leaves you stunned.
Peppino Impastato was killed in 1978 concurrently with the kidnapping of Aldo Moro, and for this reason, his story went almost unnoticed.
In my opinion, it's unnecessary to say more, it absolutely must be seen.
