"Kings of metal" is considered one of the most representative and famous albums by Manowar and of epic metal in general. This album was released in 1988 and immediately achieved great success, gaining the band huge popularity worldwide. What Joey DeMaio and Co. offer us is a powerful, energetic, and naturally 100% epic metal. The first track "Wheels of steel" starts with the roar of engines, then kicks off with lightning-fast riffs and solos, along with Eric Adams' voice, more aggressive than ever. After this first masterpiece, we continue with the gritty title track, a true anthem for the "kings of metal," where you can notice good work from the whole band and a really catchy chorus. The third track is the emotional "Heart of steel", a beautiful ballad where Eric Adams' voice, accompanied by the piano, manages to be very intense and captivating, leading to the magnificent chorus. It continues with "Sting of the bumblebee", where Joey DeMaio shows off his skill on the bass, performing hyper-technical and super-fast solos. Seeing is believing! We arrive at the majestic "The crown and the ring" introduced by the organ and truly incredible choirs, which manage to give a very epic flavor. The sixth track is "Kingdom come", very beautiful and captivating, while the next "Pleasure slave" is the weakest on the entire CD. The eighth song is the very famous "Hail and kill", introduced by a truly energetic riff and a strong performance by Adams, then bursting into its overwhelming chorus. The ninth track is "The warrior prayers", while the last song is the legendary "Blood of the kings", a truly exciting and epic track that has the honor of concluding this other masterpiece by the great Manowar!!

Heart of Steel is incredibly emotional and intense, one of the greatest Metal ballads ever composed.
Manowar remains, by virtue of albums like this one, a great band, which shares nothing with the current Power Metal bands so useless and inconsistent.

Surely, this band is not fascist; they are pure and hardcore metalheads who invented epic metal.
