This review won't get anyone's attention, and it's a shame because what I'm about to talk about is a serious contender for my top 5 of 2019.
I don't want to linger too much, I'll just point it out to you: Malibu Ken is Aesop Rock, a great veteran of the American rap scene, dropping a fabulous, playful, and syncopated flow over the ethereal beats of TOBACCO. An album that blends hip hop and psychedelia at a celestial level, where nothing is out of place, capable of elevating the listener to lysergic heights while simultaneously making them feel like an urban alley thug; all with a Barbie Malibu Ken spoiled on the cover.
Try it out; you'll be doing yourself a favor.
