I mean... have you ever heard (even by accident) the name of this band?
No? (for those of you who listen to death, this question doesn't count, so hands off)... well then, your next musical purchase must be a CD by Malevolent Creation, who have been breaking their backs in this world for years to bring their message, developed in American death metal, which means keyboards and melody are banned from this group.
But before giving birth to this new bone-crushing effort, M.C must solve some line-up issues and more; as for the band, the new singer Kyle Simmons replaces Brett Hoffman, and instead of the drummer Dave Curloss (he will be one of the drummers of Cannibal Corpse), the talented Justin Di Pinto joins; regarding the bureaucratic issues (let's call them that), our heroes move from Arctic Music to the more famous Nuclear Blast.
Of course, we must not forget the rest of the lineup: the two guitarists Phil Fasciana and Rob Barrett, and the bassist Gordon Simms.
Well, as predicted before, the band is devoted to a fast, fierce brand of U.S. death metal that takes no half measures, that grants no moments of respite; every single track sounds like a steamroller that hits and floors you; needless to say the skill of the five where the drummer is a combat and precision machine behind the skins; the two guitarists churn out killer riffs in industrial quantities, the bass (slightly penalized) helps create chaos, and the vocals spew forth unprecedented violence.
Let us bow before the majesty of "Will to Kill, All that Remains" with a possessed-style second voice that reminds of Glen Benton and with the participation of Shawn Ohtani who plays the solo, "Assassin Squad" again with an exceptional guest which is James Murphy performing the solo, "Divide and Conquer"... in short, an absolutely malevolent CD, a band that deserves more visibility listening to what these animals are capable of.
For Malevolent Creation, the saying goes: fortune is blind but bad luck sees perfectly well... let's help them by rushing off, fleeing beasts that you aren't, to buy their CDs.
