"Duane’s Allman Brothers... were brains and balls. Some use only balls out of fear of using their brains, and some use only brains because they’ve lost their balls."

"The sound boldly stretches out its branches to improvisation and experimentation, with roots firmly grounded."

You and Eat a Peach

The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band were an American rock band formed in 1969, closely associated with Macon, Georgia, and widely credited as pioneers of Southern rock. Their sound blended blues rock with extended, jazz-influenced improvisation, highlighted by twin lead guitars and (famously) a two-drummer lineup.
