Excellent both in lyrics and music, being also a great multi-instrumentalist and arranger. He started with progressive music with Delirium, moved to rock (I don’t know why he turned his back on "La mia banda suona il rock," which is instead a stunning album from the first to the last song), and ended up in more cultured and refined songwriting. He is one of the few, if not the only one, who not only has not experienced a decline in his career, but has actually improved. And it has been more unique than rare that he retired from the scene while still alive because he was convinced that he had nothing left to offer to the public.

Ivano Fossati

Ivano Fossati is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Genoa, frequently described in these reviews as cultured, refined, and restlessly experimental. Reviewers trace a path from early prog/rock roots (including Delirium) through a piano-centered period and into later albums marked by “wise simplicity,” with recurring attention to travel/sea imagery, sophisticated arrangements, and high-level lyric writing.
