Sure, he has a personal and recognizable style. I could also spit on a table and pass it off as a valuable piece of authorship. That doesn't mean it's the truth. Good old Zack stands out from other directors, but only in a negative way. The exaggerated, cloying, and often inappropriate use of slow motion, the cinematography, the colors, the abuse of computer graphics and music... all these elements make his "films" excessively fake and pompous. If he made entertainment films without pretensions, it wouldn't be so irritating, but he even has the audacity to serve us "deep" and "dark" flicks, treating the proposed themes in an extremely banal and rhetorical way. Tacky and soporific.
