Astor Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) was an Argentine bandoneonist and composer who pioneered nuevo tango, blending tango with classical forms and jazz. He studied with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and led influential ensembles including the Quinteto Nuevo Tango. His best-known pieces include Libertango, Adiós Nonino, Oblivion, and the opera Maria de Buenos Aires.
