It's not that, in my opinion, he was a great guitarist, nor even a singer with a breathtaking voice, but a genius of composition, of poetry, of pop and rock music, a genius even when he let out hippie nonsense about love, when he took a mess like Ono to bed, scandalizing the Beatles.
