A group that is singular is even an understatement: starting from a sound primarily Grindcore, these five crazies from Colorado manage to create fusions with genres like Sludge, Jazz, Prog, Black Metal, Doom, and Metalcore, all with an absurd sense of humor and a truly high level of violence. Simply genius.

Cephalic Carnage

American deathgrind band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 1992 and known for fusing grindcore/death metal with jazz-fusion and sludge/doom elements. Active on Relapse Records, they popularized the tongue-in-cheek tag “Rocky Mountain HydroGrind.”
