Pink Floyd

To unite, within a long and complex career, phases of bold experimentation, sound and cultural revolutions, colossal conceptual rock masterpieces, and to have such a significant impact on the collective imagination speaks volumes about the greatness of this band. Great both as a cult band and as a band that sells millions of records. Just as one cannot deny the unique genius of the (unfortunately brief) Barrett era (only Velvet Underground & Nico can be considered as重要in the history of rock as Piper), it is equally absurd to belittle what came afterwards (which represents the vast majority of the essence of Pink Floyd), a phase that projected and consecrated the group as a reference point for generations of listeners and other bands. Unassailable monuments, I have nothing but admiration.
