The chameleons of progressive rock, capable of transitioning from a seminal debut ("In The Court Of The Crimson King"), to a "trilogy" of albums marked by experimentation (primarily jazz) ("In The Wake Of Poseidon", "Lizard", "Islands"), to polishing and refining sounds during the golden triennium of Wetton-Fripp-Bruford ("Larks' Tongues In Aspic", "Starless And The Bible Black," and especially "Red," their greatest demonstration of maturity), returning in 1981 with a prog-new wave masterpiece ("Discipline"), up to the modernization of sounds, without falling into the commercial trap and without contaminating the progressive spirit that has spread since 1969... I believe this is enough to place them among the top 5 bands of all time... thank you very much, King Crimson...
