I've never read so much nonsense all at once... They may not have invented anything, but they were the seminal group of the '90s, on par with Slint. Two genres, two equally important seeds. I’ve actually always preferred Alice in Chains... but one can't deny the importance they had!... come on now...

Nirvana

American rock band formed in the late 1980s, fronted by Kurt Cobain with Krist Novoselic and later Dave Grohl. Broke into the mainstream with Nevermind (1991) and released In Utero (1993); Cobain died in 1994.
