John Carpenter

Great director, as cinephiles and others say. At times I appreciate him, at times I hate him. I still rewatch "District 13," "Halloween," and "1997," but other things like "Christine" or "Big Trouble in Little China" I can't digest even after 30 years. Then there are many awful films without appeal, among which "Ghosts of Mars" holds a special place.

John Carpenter

John Carpenter is an American filmmaker known for directing influential horror and science-fiction films and for composing (often synth-based) music for many of his movies. He is widely associated with low-budget, high-impact genre filmmaking and later received substantial critical reappraisal for several works initially met with mixed reception.
