Pietro Germi (1914–1974) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and actor, a central figure of commedia all’italiana. Renowned for biting social satire and sharp characterization, he portrayed Sicilian traditions and bourgeois hypocrisies in classics like Divorzio all’italiana (1961), Sedotta e abbandonata (1964), and Signore e signori (1966).
