Pino Daniele

A man in blues. He wrote an immense number of masterpieces in the first ten years of his career, merging Neapolitan melodic song with distinctly foreign musical influences (blues, jazz, rock, South American saudade), in one of the memorable unions of Italian music. An extraordinary musician, always surrounded by giants, a Neapolitan urban poet. The golden period is obviously from 1977 to 1985, but he maintained excellent levels until the early 90s. After a steadily increasing decline, which however does not diminish in the slightest what he accomplished before. We miss you, Pino.
