The extermination of the Jews by National Socialism is rightly remembered as a "genocide." The genocide of Native Americans by Western settlers has also been a tragic reality. This isn't just the usual tired story that one pulls out to say something. On the Day of Remembrance, we all reflect on how horrific Nazism was. (And rightly so.) I wish for a day that reminds the world who the first "heroic" Americans were.
