To all those who criticize The Division Bell, calling it original, predictable, and clichéd, I ask: what better way to be remembered than to return to your roots? Gilmour could very well have released an experimental album, but what's the point? To be praised by some and criticized by others? Therefore, with this sort of anachronistic album, I believe he wants to say: you have either always loved us or always hated us, without any middle ground... As for the definition, to give one would be reductive...
