LA RECENSIONE

Magasin du Café could move near the Netflix or HBO offices on Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, LA, after hearing their new album. It would fit perfectly as a soundtrack for some Viking saga or a sequel to House of Dragons. An almost entirely instrumental album (with here and there some melodic passages and openings into which very dreamy pop voices creep in), as befits a soundtrack, it is a beautiful story in notes of the journeys of Shardana, an epic tribe said to have lived in Sardinia before setting sail on the Mediterranean and beyond. Almost always in the foreground are the violin and synth, which outline very cinematic melodies, teetering between world music and Irish folk.
