THE REVIEW

Here it is again, as usual, captured for the new album in that sparse and essential style that characterizes its covers.

LP releases exactly two years apart the successor of Lost On You, her most famous work that finally gave her what she deserved -in terms of reception and distribution- after an averagely long career.

From Mika to Mike Del Rio and Robopop, the producers who have worked on the album and also on the lyrics (obviously together with LP) are various.

The first thing I notice when listening to these tracks is the lack of "flirting" elements from big production that appear here and there, while guitar and bass are clear in the presence of the song, as I usually appreciate.

The progression of Dreamcatcher and the more rock Special confirm this.

The best track is the single Recovery, with its darkness of a heartfelt ballad.

In my opinion, an element not to be underestimated at all is that Laura is a class '81; she knows how the music circuit works and knows how to write songs from the perspective of someone who has lived a bit, without giving up the more pop catchiness (this is my mere supposition).

Precisely for this reason, in the tracks of Heart To Mouth I sense quality but also radio appeal, both in equal measure.

The lyrics that I think have the most value are precisely those of Special, which seems self-referential from the very first verse; a bit like a new Other People that I unconsciously searched for during the listening.
