We are faced with a group as strange as it is classic ...that is, I LORDI.
In this album, they describe a particular phenomenon: "the apocalypse of rock".
It all starts with the usual monstrous intro that acts as a news broadcast to explain the phenomenon in question. Then it moves on to "Bringing Back The Balls to Rock": an almost heavy track with some harder points in the chorus. "The Deadite Girls Gone Wild" and "The Kids Who Wanna Play With the Dead" are two fairly catchy tracks in pure Lordi hard style.
"It Snows In Hell" is a slow track that relaxes the listener before destroying them with "Who's Your Daddy?" and the legendary "HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH". In the other tracks, we find dedications to some horror movies referenced by them "The Chainsaw Buffet" and the legendary (and unfortunately the last) "Supermonstars" which ideally closes a Lordi album.
A very catchy album with classic Lordi style. One of the best in their discography.
"The album overall is easy to listen to and enjoyable even for those who aren’t particularly fans of the genre."
"If it weren’t for some less striking tracks we could have dared to call it a masterpiece."
"The Lordi are a terrifying Finnish band that emerged... they perform and give interviews only wearing hideous monstrous masks and gothic costumes."
"The Arockalypse… is still 'fascinating,' with choirs veiled in Epic, and guitar riffs that effectively bring back previous rock music yet highlight influences of 'modern Metal.'"
